Greetings.
Welcome to the New Thing. It's going to be different from the Old Thing. The Old Thing was "Heart in a Jar," a blog dedicated to the horrific in media. It was fun, but it was limiting. I had zero interest in watching and reviewing new, direct-to-video films, and in exclusively one genre. Simply stated, there's a lot of crap out there, and life is short and getting shorter every day. And, as a parallel, there was very little interest in my regurgitation of the horror highlights from my past. But let's be clear; there will be a very pronounced Horror element to TToM, THoU (hmm, "Tom Thou" - I think I like that). It just won't be the only element.
Nope. This is free-form, baby. Movies, politics, books, comics, music, theater, television, social commentary, and a pronounced preoccupation with all that is good and Gay in the world. This may be a difficult blog to market. I find it hard to believe that there are too many readers out there willing to travel with me wherever I intend to go. At some point this car is gonna veer off the main highway and spend some time at a quaint little seller of antiques and lagniappe, or perhaps a lonely bistro where the cut of meat looks distinctly bipedal in origin. Or maybe I'll just pull over to that wayside there and tend to the needs of biology. This is my vehicle, I'm driving it, and should you choose to stay in the front seat and listen to the radio, I won't be offended. Just know that I control the locks from the driver's side.
And if you're wondering where the title of the blog originates, it's a riff on the second LP release from the British synth act Landscape, which scored a UK Top Five single with this. If you hear it chirping and bubbling within the brain whenever you come and visit, that would be quite fitting, I think.
